Genitalia (Circumcision)

Circumcision

Circumcision is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of the foreskin, the skin covering the tip of the penis. It may be performed for medical, cultural, or religious reasons.

Benefits of Circumcision:

  • Medical Benefits – Reduces the risk of infections, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), and certain conditions like phimosis (tight foreskin).
  • Hygiene – Easier to clean and maintain genital hygiene.
  • Health Prevention – Lowers the risk of urinary tract infections (UTIs) and penile cancer.

Procedure:

Circumcision is typically performed under local or general anesthesia. The foreskin is surgically removed, and the area is carefully closed to promote proper healing. Recovery usually takes a few days to a couple of weeks, with minimal discomfort.

This procedure is commonly performed on newborns, children, and adults who may require it for medical or personal reasons.
